“Wonderful and magical, this accommodation holds a very special place in my heart”
I only stayed two nights at Alojamento Raminho dos Açores, and even though the weather was bad, I enjoyed every minute. From the moment I arrived, it felt like home. After a quick check‑in in Portuguese and a bit of hand‑and‑foot communication, I entered the garden where I could see how much Paula and Antonio had invested in the place—paths, rabbits, flowers, a fountain—all creating a soothing atmosphere. The cottages were cozy, and the TV with many channels was a welcome comfort during the rain. Outside, two small chairs were perfect for enjoying the scenery when the weather cleared. The hosts were genuinely present and helpful, unlike some places where they say “we’re here for you” but don’t show up. They made me feel cared for. Don’t miss the dinner—Antonio is a talented chef who uses fresh local ingredients from the sea or land, and the homemade wine, though modestly described as “not experts,” was better than anything I’d had in Terceira restaurants. If you’re willing to slow down and soak in everything this beautiful place and its hosts offer, you’ll have a wonderful time. Enjoy the garden, eat great food, drink wine (more than one bottle if you can), cuddle Laika the dog, and you won’t regret it. I loved everything; thanks to Antonio, Paula, Laika, and the rabbits.
