“Room literally reaked of URINE”

We walked into a grimy basement after endless back‑and‑forth asking for check‑in directions and standing outside for hours. The door lacked a handle, and once we unlocked it we were hit by an intense urine odor. The host told us to just switch on the A/C, that we could leave but wouldn’t get a refund, and claimed we wouldn’t find anything better for the price. After twenty minutes of trying to sort things out with her, we fled with our bags because the stench was unbearable and our clothes smelled like urine. Customer support has been unresponsive despite the serious health and safety issue, and the host refuses to answer. I’ve backpacked across Southeast Asia and this is the worst accommodation, host interaction, and customer service I’ve ever faced. Avoid it at all costs; we found a better place at City Jungle for only a little more.

The place is convenient if you’re traveling by train and is close to the station. We notified the host days in advance and were told someone would be there when we arrived. On the day there was no one, we sent a message through Booking’s chat but got no reply. After calling, we had to wait a while on the street for a code to access the accommodation. There’s no human interaction, everything is automated. Sending photos of documents for check‑in feels illegal, and the room and bathroom were cheap.

“Very disappointing, cheating ower.”

I booked a three‑night stay, but the room was hot and humid. Although advertised with A/C, it never worked. The owner knew but didn’t tell me beforehand. I told her I’d leave the next morning and requested a refund for two nights; she agreed. We left the next day, but the money was never returned. The owner claims she handed the Euro 160 to the cleaner and that I received it, yet she has no proof. When I showed evidence that I left before the cleaner arrived, she stopped arguing and ignored my messages. She threatened to leave bad feedback about me when I said I would. I urge everyone to stay away; the owner/operator is dishonest.
