⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A wonderful getaway in the city of Blankenberg. I stayed for one night as a quick escape at the Hotel von Landsberg in Blankenberg near Hennef – and I could hardly wish for a nicer place. The hotel blends the special charm of the historic town with modern and very cozy rooms. The main building with the Sevidian restaurant and the building just a few steps away with the café “Die alte Schule” together form a truly nice complex. I was especially delighted by the large suite on the top floor (room number 6). With almost 50 m² it is very spacious and has a living‑kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave and dishwasher plus kitchen utensils. There’s also a large bathroom with a big shower and double sinks and a separate bedroom. The huge double bed was a real highlight for me. The mattresses were simply excellent – not too soft, not sagging, but really comfortable. The suite is overall very tasteful and cozy, so you feel at home immediately. There’s a TV in both the living and bedroom. The breakfast at “Die alte Schule” also convinced me. It’s plentiful and offers everything you need for a good start to the day. During the day you can enjoy coffee and cake in a relaxed way and enjoy the beautiful view and the wide outlook. A great feature is the break room where various alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks are available. You just take something and then write your room number on a note – all on a trust basis. A really nice idea! The location is also great: the castle, the castle wall and the historic surroundings of Blankenberg are right nearby and invite exploration. There was nothing to complain about or grumble over. Everything was excellent.

The village, the beautiful nature, the very friendly staff, the fact that there were only 6 rooms, the nice café with its own patisserie and the restaurant with the fantastic view, the love of detail in the rooms, the quiet, the comfortable beds, the good room equipment (even a hiking backpack and umbrella) and the trusting treatment of us guests… everything was very good! It was a shame we didn’t have time to have breakfast.

A quiet spot that feels like a hidden gem, but overall it didn't offer much more than that.
