They attended to us very well, we arrived early and they had no problem storing our luggage. They explained everything with great patience, which is much appreciated. We also ate at the same hotel and everything was exquisite.

The location of the accommodation was very convenient, but after 10 pm the staff stopped working, making it a bit harder to go out, though it didn’t spoil my overall impression of the stay.

This spot sits right next to the TV store where Hinata first saw the Little Giant play, so it’s a convenient base for Haikyu fans. A display cabinet full of Haikyu merch adds a nice touch. The room is roomy and cozy, and the heater was already on when I arrived, which was great given the cold, rainy March weather in Karumai. The staff were friendly and helpful, even giving clear bus directions. Karumai itself is quiet with little foot traffic. I chose half‑board, and the meals were tasty, generous, and satisfying. Guests must leave keys at reception when going out, and the hotel isn’t flexible with checkout times, though they offered to store luggage. I checked out early and caught an earlier bus back to Morioka Station.

This is a great Ryokan for anyone visiting Karumai as part of the Haikyu Pilgrimage. This is located in the center of the town near all the inspired locations that one would find in Haikyu. This Ryokan has all the basic amenities that one would expect from a hotel (shampoo, hair dryer, pajamas, etc.) and a restaurant, which had some great homey meals. When the host asked if I was visiting for Haikyu, the host was delighted to hear and provided a guide book on all the different inspired locations that I can visit. The town and Ryokan are accessible by bus from Ninohe and Hachinohe, but for anyone who is able to drive, I would recommend renting a car as this Ryokan has parking and some of the pilgrimage locations, especially the final one, will require a car. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Karumai again in the future. I had no issues with the Ryokan and I was aware of the location, but prospective guests should know that this a small remote town, so some convenient places such as convenience stores and late-night restaurants will be difficult to find here. Many places in this town close around 7pm, so I would recommend getting a meal plan (breakfast and dinner) with your hotel reservation just to be on the safer side and not have to stress about finding food
