The spot was spot on – we could walk to everything we needed. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and comfy, with a nice balcony, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was the pool, which sits right at the front of the property next to the footpath and road.

I stayed in a third‑floor room with a large bed; everything was in excellent condition. Chris at reception was, as always, very welcoming. Il Mondo, opposite the Story Bridge Hotel, is a great café in an excellent location. At that price, it’s hard to find a better option in Brisbane; I’ve been staying there for years when I visit for the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba, and the round is about 1.2 km away, a reasonable walk that passes the Pineapple Hotel.

The location was great and the room was large, clean, and came with a balcony overlooking the river – more than we expected for the reasonable price in such a central spot. The restaurant next door was fantastic, and it was a short walk to Howard Smith Wharfs for our function. Chris at the front desk was very welcoming and greeted us with a smile.

The staff were great and friendly, check‑in was super easy, showers excellent, rooms well appointed, but there was no insect screen on the sliding door.
