“I’m away from home, cozy, safe and secure!”
The studio had a separate lounge/kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom, plus two roomy walk‑in wardrobes next to the bedroom, all top quality. I was pleased when my extra duvet and pillows were added without any hassle. The entrance door is separate from the main house, giving a cozy, home‑like vibe. Wi‑Fi was excellent, and the amenities matched the description. Deb was an outstanding host; when I arrived late the first night and had nothing to eat, she brought a plate of fresh fruit, olives, and a bottle of beer, and there was already a loaf of bread and a pint of milk in the fridge. A large water filter machine provided room‑temperature or cold filtered water whenever I wanted it. I wish I’d stayed longer because I had to leave for another property that was booked on the day I was checking out. Dep also runs a fish‑and‑chips shop in Caversham by the shopping centre, about a 10‑minute walk from the house, where I tried the food and was surprised when Dep mentioned that staying at her property reduced the price. The shower, while spacious enough for two people, had low water pressure and unstable temperature, taking at least 30 minutes to get a decent shower because the water kept fluctuating. There was no washing‑up bowl, which could have fit on the other side of the shower cubicle next to another showerhead—perfect for washing plates. The annex is attached to the main house with a door separating the two; since the property is self‑contained, a lock on the side of the door for the guest’s privacy would have been nice.
