Alma House

The location is excellent in the New Bahru precinct, close to Robertson Quay on the River and the stunning Fort Canning Park managed by the Botanic Gardens. The accommodation is in a repurposed school block, and our room had plumbing problems, which was frustrating. The staff were very helpful and moved us to a new room, which was pleasant, clean, and spacious. The downside was that the room was a long walk from reception and the lifts. Overall, it was a good stay and I would use Alma House again.

“Nice apartment with great service.”

This was a very nice little hotel. The apartments were very nice for a short stay. The location was quite good and there were lots of restaurants and cafes right on the site. The staff were very, very helpful and nice. Beware of the washing machine, which also has drying functions! I washed some clothes the evening before my flight and they were not 100% dry in the morning, so, I stuck them in the washing machine/dryer to dry them a bit more. The machine was on an automatic drying regime and chose to dry my clothes for a few hours, but this was not necessary and I was leaving for the airport. I tried opening the door to the machine but it wouldn't open. I stopped the machine but no luck. So, I waited a few minutes. Still no luck and the door would not open. I then called the front desk and they told me that the door only opens 20 minutes after you force stop the machine from its cycle. I'm very lucky that I was leaving for the airport in 25 minutes, otherwise, this would have been a serious problem

“Für den Preis war der Aufenthalt okay. Man darf sich nicht zu viel Komfort erwarten.”

The location was good, with public transport easily accessible. The staff were friendly, and there were nearby shops and local spots. The furnishings were sparse, and a gecko was behind the curtains in the room. Cleaning was only twice a week unless requested otherwise. At check‑in, a deposit was required and it hasn’t been refunded yet; it seems to take longer than usual.

“快適な滞在。”

The room was spacious and quiet, allowing a relaxed stay. Fort Cunning and Great World stations were both a 10‑minute walk, making sightseeing convenient. Cleaning was only twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

“Perfect for a work stay”

The vibe of the place matched what my wife and I were looking for, and the air conditioning was pleasantly cold. The food nearby was delicious!
