Mountain Creek Vacation

The spot was great, the creek and scenery were lovely. The balconies were fantastic, the bedrooms comfortable, and the downstairs shower was modern and refreshing. The kitchen was small, poorly equipped with glassware, kitchenware, and old pots and pans. There were no kids’ toys, and many broken items, including a dangerous outdoor electrical switch on the upper balcony, made it unsafe for young children.

“Wouldn’t consider it a very family friend place and lacks bathroom amenities.”

The bed was comfortable. Several sets of bedding were stained. The property sits on a creek, and parking/driveway conditions were poor with weak lighting at night. There were 25+ steps from the shared driveway to the front door, so you’d have to carry all suitcases up to the bedrooms. The kitchen was very small and lacked hand soap. No washing powder or detergent was provided for laundry, even though the listing advertised a washing machine and tumble dryer. The combined washer/dryer failed to dry clothes properly. This was the only place I’ve stayed that charged a cot hire fee. I tried to confirm in writing that a cot had been added to the booking, but received no response; when I called, I was told the area had flooded so they hadn’t responded. Communication was poor. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were missing, and the only body wash available was a single block at the sink.

“Awesome, definitely 😎 👌”

The house was lovely, the beds were comfy, hot water was good, the dishwasher worked great, showers were fine, access was reasonable, we spotted mountain goats, it was close to shops and perfect for a Pacific family, right next to our activities, each room had a personal balcony with awesome views, the room heaters functioned, and it was easy to find everything. However, the rooms couldn’t lock, the shower couldn’t lock, there were no tea towels, the washer/dryer had no user instructions, there was no recycling on site, only two garbage bags were provided, no cleaning tools were available, and there were only six TP rolls for the four days.

“Good location, great facilities & good room, a bit dated and has a damp carpet smell .”

The room had everything we needed in the kitchen, a big fridge, a clothes drying rack, and it was warm; it was large enough for three people, and linen was included even though the listing said it was extra. The only real downside was a bad odor in the room that forced us to buy scented candles; the owners might consider leaving something in the room to combat the dampish smell.

The location was good and the space was adequate, but the heating was insufficient in winter.
