The spot’s spot on – train station, shops, and a brand‑new Coles all within walking distance. The room is huge, with sliding glass doors that open onto a little private garden. The bed is a massive king, and there’s plenty of cupboard space, shelves, an office desk, and two bedroom tables. The only downside? The weather was a bit of a letdown.

Day one, mold on the walls and ceiling – not great. Day two, while I was out, someone sprayed bleach on the mold without telling me. When I got back, the mold was gone but the bleach smell was overpowering. Nothing was covered, so bleach ended up on food, the bed, my clothes – a bunch of them got red/pink stains. I reached out to the owners, but they seemed uninterested. Other guests have had the same issue. At least three of us are still coughing from the bleach. The location itself is fine.

The bed was comfy and the shower was hot – and the price was good. But I couldn’t turn off the hallway lights, and the light leaked through the glass panels and curtains. The bedroom had moldy cornices and the shower curtains were moldy too. The kitchen was a mess with two overflowing bins and trash on the floor. The crockery in the room was dirty, including a mug with coffee/tea residue and visible lip marks. Other guests were stomping on the floorboards until 12:30 am and again from 4:30 am.

The house is a great old mansion, and the room is huge and super comfortable. It’s a 10‑15 minute walk from Lindfield station, and Coles is close by. The only downside was the muddy driveway in the rain – it was a mess with bags everywhere.
