Fantastic, friendly, and attentive staff. We were able to change rooms without any problem, and the manager was always available to help. The second room was spacious and very functional. The establishment is ideally located halfway between the university and the city center.

A family‑run hotel that made me feel so welcome and went out of their way to accommodate my disability scooter. They moved me to a first‑floor room and ensured my scooter was charged overnight for the next day’s outing. The location is fantastic: 10 minutes from Southampton’s center but on the outskirts. Less than a 2‑minute walk to the river and park, and just 1 minute from a row of shops, take‑aways, cafés, and bars.

I have stayed there before, and it’s now under new management that just took over. Jay assisted me with every extra request I had, and I can see this place could become a future improved accommodation once a few minor upgrades are completed. I hope to visit again in the future.

The hotel smelled like an old pub, the hallway carpet was sticky, and the bed was crammed into a corner so I couldn’t get in. I asked for a ground‑floor room but got the 2nd floor. It was hot, so I opened the window, but traffic noise was too loud. We left without staying.
