The property sits within walking distance of the foreshore shops, about a 20‑minute walk. It’s also close to several points of interest. I liked swinging outside the front of the property, but getting into the lounge area was difficult even though it looked great from the outside; it would have been nice to sit there in the morning with coffee overlooking the sea. Parking was tight – when we arrived in the evening, three 4×4s were parked in the space. The gardener was a gem and directed people out of the parking. Street parking was the only other option. An access key for the lounge would have been helpful.

The place is in an excellent spot, and the host was very polite and helpful. I slept well, the beds were cozy, and the view was spectacular – a genuinely pleasant stay. Everything was spot on, no complaints.

We booked a large room with sea view and it was great! The apartment looked nice and the location was good. The check‑in and check‑out process was a bit poorly organized; the lady was still sleeping when we tried to hand over the key. There weren’t enough parking spaces.

The stay at Shark Island was clean and the room and property were neat and well maintained, but several areas could use improvement. The biggest let‑down was the advertised sea view – we couldn’t see the sea from our room unless we kept the front door open and the bedroom window faced another room’s entrance, which meant we couldn’t open the curtains without compromising privacy. The room also lacked convenient power points; there was no plug next to the bed or near the mirror, and no 2‑point plug, making charging devices and getting ready inconvenient. The stairs were very narrow and uncomfortable, especially with luggage, and the door at the stairs was extremely stiff and hard to open when carrying bags. Arrival was another challenge – there were no clear signs for reception, so we waited and knocked at the front door before calling the number provided. We were directed around to a side entrance and then told to go to another side gate, which was tiring after a long drive. The host could have greeted us outside instead of giving us signs from inside the main house. Parking was limited and the available space uncomfortable, though a car guard was appreciated in the evening. The shower needed attention: the water mixer was temperamental, and the slightest movement would make the water either extremely hot or cold. Overall, the accommodation was clean and neat, but given the price and how the property is advertised, I expected a more convenient and comfortable experience.
