The room was clean and comfortable, even if it was a bit small.
We had a fantastic time here with our family and can't wait to come back.
The location was perfect, right on the beach with easy access to local restaurants and shops.
The food was consistently delicious and varied, and the staff were always friendly and accommodating.

The location was excellent, rooms were beautiful, very clean and comfortable, and the hotel staff were amazing.
“Focus on a more thoughtful, guest-centered approach would elevate the experience considerably.”
Beautifully maintained grounds, great location. Availability of some arranged activities like volleyball, pool exercises, yoga and stretching etc. 1) Inflexible management: wouldn't allow a 24hour delay which happened due to disruptions out of our control, even though it was low season, and the property clearly had the bandwidth in terms of room availability. 2) The food was not up to par: Same limited breakfast menu everyday with no consideration for different dietary restrictions or palettes. 3) Odd conformity checks: we were given bracelets to wear at check-in to identify us as guests and indicate the package purchased (e.g. full or half-board), and yet in our 4day stay we were stopped by security, twice! to confirm our identity. Not a hospitable or welcoming gesture. Also, defeats the purpose of wearing an 'identifying feature' (which is not expected in luxury resorts)
I stayed at Sandies Baobab last year and it was unforgettable – the beauty of the resort, the real Zanzibar vibe, and the overall experience made it one of my favorite spots on the island. When I returned in 2026, the vibe had shifted. The staff were still friendly, welcoming, and attentive, the food stayed excellent, and the beachfront views were still stunning. My biggest let‑down was the new Bravo Italian entertainment brand, which seemed to strip away the authentic Zanzibar charm that originally set Sandies Baobab apart. The resort now feels aimed at a single market instead of showcasing the local culture and relaxed island feel that made it special. I hope management can keep the beautiful Zanzibar identity alive while maintaining the great hospitality the staff deserve.
“Wonderful property for family with kids”
The location was great and the rooms were spacious; Chef helped us with Jain food. Ants did creep into the room, but that’s a normal beach‑property issue in Zanzibar.
“Relax assoluto in una bellissima struttura sul oceano”
A gorgeous hotel in a stunning spot with a beautiful beach, immaculate rooms, excellent staff, delicious high‑quality food, and great attention to detail—I highly recommend it.
