“A practical place to stay.”
I liked how close the place is to Bidwell Trust Hospital, but the damp smell in my room was unpleasant.

Lovely. Nothing to add.

Remote check‑in works fine for a night or two. The room is small and plain, with its own toilet and a fridge. The bed is a bit tight for two. Street parking in front of the hostel is possible. The shared showers are basic, and the kitchen is messy but mostly clean. The shared shower and kitchen could be cleaner.

I was very disappointed to discover it was actually a guest house where people lived permanently. The room and toilet were good and the bed comfortable, but the communal shower and kitchen area were not clean. It wasn’t clear from the listing that it was a guest house; I felt it was more like a holiday park, and I wouldn’t have taken my 80‑year‑old mother there with strangers roaming around.

Had a great stay with nice common areas and a large fully equipped kitchen. The décor is lively, featuring famous quotes on the walls. Check‑in and check‑out were easy, and the staff were very responsive. I’ll definitely book again when I’m in Timaru.
