“Amazing wildlife and excellent guide, but service and food were disappointing”
The game drives and our guide Thato were excellent – we saw lions, cheetahs, elephants, hyaena and wild dogs. Unforgettable wildlife experience. The service and food quality were very disappointing: · No one took our breakfast order – we had to walk to the buffet station ourselves to place our order · The steak was so tough and dry that I couldn't eat it – even the replacement was just as bad. The waitress didn’t even ask a word even she saw the steak replacement was left untouched on the plate. · My son's water glass was empty throughout dinner, while staff actively topped up wine for other guests. · Lunch portions were too small; my son's pasta wasn't enough to fill him. · Our flight was 11:30, but staff kept saying 11:00 – careless and not attentive to guest’s flight schedule. · The fireplace kept going out because the logs were too big. We called reception a few times around 11pm but no one answered. • At check-out, we had to ask for help with our luggage. When staff came, they waited outside the room for us to carry the bags out, rather than coming in to assist. · At check-out, the staff only said "Bye" – no "Have a safe flight", no "Thank you for staying", no "Hope to see you again". It felt cold and impersonal, especially compared to how we saw them greeting other guests during our stay. Overall: Wildlife and guide = 5 stars. Service, food, and attention to detail = need serious improvement

The safari was incredible, Ralph was so great, the rooms and lodge were excellent, and the watering hole with a lookout was amazing; I can’t think of any way to improve any of it.

Rhulani is a little paradise on earth! The property is impeccably organized, spotless, and cared for with great taste in every detail. The staff are simply extraordinary: kindness, politeness, and genuine attention to guests make every moment special, and every need is met with great willingness. The kitchen deserves a special mention too: the food is delicious, high‑quality, with strong local roots and reinterpreted for every taste (plated like a starred restaurant)! The safari tours are perfectly arranged. Every vehicle is equipped with everything needed – blankets, ponchos, hot water bottles, and more – and the ranger quality is excellent. A special shout‑out to the unforgettable super ranger Ralf! The snack stops are also great, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. We stayed for four nights and think that’s a perfectly balanced length – not too short, not too long… even at departure we didn’t want to leave! We can only express deep appreciation for a simply perfect stay. If it were possible to give 15 stars, we would do so without hesitation. We not only recommend the place, made by special people, but we highly recommend it! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Rhulani, and thanks to everyone! You were fantastic and we’ll keep a wonderful memory of this experience for a long time. We hope to return one day.

The staff were lovely and did everything they could to help; the accommodation was private, comfortable, and our room offered amazing views over the waterhole, the hide was amazing, and the safari drives were a great highlight—loved every minute. Nothing really stood out as a problem, but it would have been nice to have a small gym on site, even just treadmills, because walking around is tough, and we didn’t know we had to prebook yoga, which would have been sufficient.
