After returning from the mountains in Georgia, this guesthouse became our perfect “rest base” for a few days. It’s located away from the tourist center of Tbilisi, on a hill about a 15‑20 minute walk from Ghrmagele metro, but it offers key advantages that mattered to us. We didn’t plan to wander the crowded city center this time; instead we were drawn by the easy walk to the reservoir (“Tbilisi Sea”) and the “Chronicle of Georgia” monument, which we hadn’t visited on previous trips. Walking the surrounding hills with great views of Tbilisi helped us recover from the tough mountain trails. The location was convenient – close to the Didube minibus station where we arrived and left, and taxis (for example via Bolt) were cheaper than city buses in European cities. The city minibus 504 was also handy. The pool was decisive for us – the child loved swimming and appreciated it fully. An unexpected highlight was the ping‑pong table with a robot (a cannon!), and Vasiliy, the host, kindly gave a mini‑lesson – a real delight and benefit for the child. The hosts were amazingly kind and responsive, offering us fruit and more. On the second floor (where you stay) there’s a fridge, kettle, microwave, Wi‑Fi, and a shared bathroom. If you want to cook something simple, the host is happy to help in her kitchen. Within a 10‑minute walk there are decent restaurants and fast‑food. We especially liked “Urmuli” on Guramishvili (a cozy courtyard, great shashlik, better than in the center), “Tarantino” shawarma, and the cheese‑café (oddly called the pizza shop La Burrata). As for negatives, it’s hard to find faults given the price‑performance ratio. The rooms in the house seem to differ in finish level, showing that the owners are gradually improving it. Keep in mind it’s a guesthouse, not a star hotel, and the warm reception more than compensates for any shortcomings. Huge thanks to Vasiliy and his parents – we were very satisfied and will definitely come back.
