The room was comfortable and spacious, a lovely lady cooked us nice breakfasts, and it was good value for money, but I couldn’t sit on the toilet straight because the radiator was in the way.

The building was lovely, the location great, the staff friendly, and the breakfast lovely, yet the room was dusty, a dirty sock from a previous guest was under the chair, and the bar area was noisy.

The location was a 2 minute walk to the centre, but the stairwell and the room (my room anyway) were a bit grotty and could use a makeover.

I rang to ask for an earlier check‑in and the staff were more helpful than anyone could have been; breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and efficient again, but my shower door was broken, so I was moved to another room when I reported it with no inconvenience, and they even moved my belongings for me as I had to go out; the decor was a little tired, but that did not detract from the comfort.
