“Experiencia de luces y sombras en este hotel”
We left this hotel with mixed feelings. On one hand, it had truly amazing aspects, but on the other, we think there are several important details that should improve, especially considering the price we paid. The location is spectacular, literally on the beachfront, and the pool is incredible. The staff was super friendly, attentive, and ready to help us at all times. We had read some pretty bad reviews about the food, and honestly, it surprised us for the better: it was very tasty and we enjoyed the meals there. But, without a doubt, the best part of our stay was something completely unexpected: in the afternoon, a wild elephant appeared very close to the hotel. It was an amazing and special moment that we probably wouldn’t have experienced elsewhere. Only such experiences make you understand how special it is to stay in this area. The main problem was that the hotel did not match what we had seen in the photos. In the images it looked like a brand‑new, well‑maintained property, but upon arrival the reality was quite different. The room needed more maintenance and cleaning: the windows had been uncleaned for a long time, the hangers were rusted, and the bathroom was quite neglected. The shower arch was also rusted and we found a couple of cockroaches in the bathroom. We understand that we are in the middle of nature and the hotel is in an area where such things can be harder to avoid. However, we believe that when you are paying around 160 € for a night, you expect better facilities that match that price. In short, we think it’s a hotel with a spectacular location, an amazing pool, and fantastic staff, but it needs a lot of maintenance to live up to its photos and, above all, its price. Personally, I would not pay 160 € per night for this accommodation in Sri Lanka again, although the experience of seeing a wild elephant approach the hotel was, without doubt, unforgettable.
Paradise of nature. Amazing people. They welcomed us with a New Year buffet with food and typical sweets, making us feel at home. The most recommended in the area. Thank you so much for everything!!

The hotel has a really good location near the sea, which is a big plus. There’s also a large and lovely pool where you can relax. The rooms are big and spacious, making the stay comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were good with tasty food and decent variety. The staff is friendly and helpful, which is always appreciated. Plus the hotel is close to safari, making it convenient if you want to go on trips. The facilities are not very modern, but everything is clean and well‑maintained, so it works absolutely fine. In short, a good hotel with a nice location and pleasant atmosphere! The renovation of some facilities is needed over time, but at least everything is clean.
“Decadente.”
The location, the pool, the service, and the visiting elephant were great. It’s really a shame how bad the facilities were. We stayed on the right wing and our building was the only one that wasn’t falling apart. Broken windows, raised floors, collapsed railings… plus the deep cleaning was completely missing. I expected to be in a room with magnificent sea views or to take a shower in the basin with the same views, but the windows were practically opaque from accumulated dirt. The same went for the gym. It’s a terrible pity to have those windows with such impressive views and not be able to see through them. In the bathroom, there were stains and marks from years of lack of cleaning. The food was terrible and EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. It was definitely the most expensive dinner of our entire trip to Sri Lanka and we felt totally ripped off because the buffet quality didn’t justify it. I’d add that the staff is TOO intense, chasing you all the time for the buffet every time you get up from the chair. Paying 20 $ per PERSON in a country like Sri Lanka and considering the terrible quality of the food is ridiculous. The breakfast was also the worst we had on our whole trip. But in the end, the lack of maintenance and deep cleaning prevented us from enjoying our stay. The pool, the staff, and an elephant that wanders by from time to time are not enough to compensate for all the negative aspects of this place, which will be doomed to disappear if management does nothing about it. I get the feeling that they charge outrageous prices but keep everything in the manager’s pocket. What this hotel needs are repairs, quality food, and decent cleaning products, because the hardworking staff already has that.
Everything: location, facilities. But especially the staff, they prepared a surprise for New Year, with typical food, super cozy. Next to Yala National Park. I recommend it above other accommodations. Thanks again for the welcome.
