Casitas Del Rio Riverfront Nature Lodge

We stayed in the Casitas for two nights and would have happily stayed longer. The layout of the property, its closeness to nature, wildlife, and the murmuring river, the privacy of each apartment, and a refreshing dip in the pool all appealed to us. Chris and Kristen were thoughtful and caring hosts, offering great recommendations and local knowledge. Their passion for curating this special place was evident when they showed us around. We also appreciated their respect for nature and local farmers. It might not suit everyone, but it suited us: during breakfast, Chris shared stories about flora, fauna, and Costa Rican history, and the coffee was delicious. This was one of our favorite spots on our Costa Rica trip.

“Super great. Any time again.”

It feels like a little paradise, almost a botanical garden. We planned a 3‑night stay but added two more on the first day. Chris and Kristen are exceptional hosts who can tell you a lot about local flora, fauna, and history. Even during the rainy season it was a great experience with plenty of sunshine, and we really enjoyed the pool. If you can book the Sloth Villa, we highly recommend it because we loved it.

“Juwel mit Komfort und Gastfreundschaft mitten in der Natur”

Everything from the nature and wildlife to the hosts and their hospitality, the entire grounds and the houses – all top! I’d give 100 points if I could. If we ever visit Costa Rica again, we’ll come back (and book directly)!

Very nice casitas, well equipped with high‑quality, tasteful furnishings. The kitchen is fully stocked, so cooking is a breeze. A/C works perfectly. The garden is colorful and full of birds, agutis, and lizards, and a beautiful river runs behind the property. The pool is big enough to swim in comfortably. Chris and Kristen go to great lengths to give you everything you need, especially loads of useful tips on where to go and what to see around Uvita.
