Always a pleasure to visit the Mistley Thorn. Really friendly staff excellent food and facilities. We stayed in the new extension of the post office which was beautiful. The new cafe bar area and courtyard are really great too

A spacious, cozy room with a river view made for a pleasant stay, and the breakfast spread offered plenty of options while the staff were consistently helpful and friendly. I capped the evening with a drink at the newly opened bar after catching up with relatives. The only hiccup was the absence of a bin in the bedroom for tea bags and the like; there was one in the bathroom, but a bin near the tea and coffee would have been useful.

The breakfast was outstanding and the staff were lovely. The room, number 18, had just been renovated and looked great, featuring a spacious walk‑in shower and air conditioning, which was a nice bonus. Everything was spotless and well equipped. The only small suggestion my husband had was to add a shaving mirror by the sink, as there is currently no mirror there.
