This no‑frills motel was fine for a single night, located in a service station with the usual amenities; the room was clean, the reception staff friendly, the wifi decent, and it was quiet overnight, but the mattress was too hard for me and there were no tablespoons for tea or coffee—just a slim wooden stirrer.

The room was spacious and the attached facilities were convenient, yet it was dirty, mouldy, the bed was hard and it boiled at night, and there was no AC or internet.

Lorries revving their engines all night right outside the window, dirty walls, water gushing out of the bath over and over, a poor shower, and beds that were very uncomfortable – definitely not a place I'd return to, especially with a 4‑year‑old in tow.
