The hotel sits right in Rochester’s center, making a trip to the cathedral and castle a breeze; the staff were friendly and let me park my car there until the evening after I’d “checked out” in the morning. I walked in and out at different times and the staff weren’t always present, so I ended up letting other guests in.

Good room, nice size and clean. No lift to top floor and hotel is undergoing works. However this is reflected in the price and makes it excellent value. Good room Friendly staff

The staff were super friendly and professional from the start, the room was immaculately clean and had all the essentials, plus some beautiful period original features. It would have been nice to have decaf tea and coffee in the room, and there’s no plug near the bed for phones—those lamps are plugged in elsewhere. Plenty of outlets are near the TV and coffee station. The décor feels a bit dated, but renovations are underway.

The location is unbeatable, but I was a bit let down that the bar and restaurant were still closed; I’m sure it’ll be great once finished.
