The location is great, close to public transport, safe, and clean, with nice restaurants and parks nearby; Alamo Park is just a 10‑minute walk, so it was a good deal for the cost. The front desk felt a bit aloof, there are no elevators, and if you’re not fit enough to haul a heavy suitcase up and down the stairs, this might not suit you. Staff didn’t offer much help, and the hotel room had a funky smell that you eventually get used to. I chose a room with a shared restroom, which was fine—always clean, with hot water and toilet paper.

The place was clean, and a friendly cleaning lady handled a small issue right away with a smile and no attitude. The room was very cramped, and I noticed a sticky paper spot that could be a sign of rats on the floor—though I didn’t see any. It’s barebones, but it’s reasonable for the price.

The location was good, the cleaning staff did their job, and the old‑fashioned style felt quaint; I appreciated a slightly early check‑in. However, the shower on my floor was broken and stayed that way even after I reported it, the room doors didn’t open fully, the Wi‑Fi didn’t work, and the room was hot and noisy because of the building design. Overall, it felt overpriced.
