The indoor open‑air bath was great, but the incense smell was too strong.

The view and the hot spring were great, and the staff were very helpful, with plenty of people on hand. The room was spacious enough, and the welcome drink was delicious and well received. The conversation room is perfect for making phone calls, and it would be even better if there were drinks available; having coffee would be appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic—there was a lot, yet it didn't feel heavy, which was great for seniors. The bath was bright and roomy, and towels were provided, which was a relief. The shampoo and other toiletries were high quality, so my hair felt smooth instead of stiff like at budget ryokans. The lotion and emulsion were also well stocked, and the hair ties were complete. They even provided natural water, which is tasty. Meals were served in private rooms by staff, so there was no waiting and a sense of consideration. Thanks for the fridge with beer and tea. I enjoyed the soba tea. However, there was no TV in the bedroom, and the lighting was too bright for older guests, causing eye strain. The elevator doors closed too quickly, making it hard to get out with a bag; it might be faster if someone else is pushing from another floor. The room key was hard to open, and one explanation wasn't enough for seniors; they needed time to get used to it. After breakfast, tea was served, but it would be nice to have coffee on request. Bringing chopsticks home was allowed, but I would have liked an explanation about the chopstick rinse at the end. A short walk would be nice. The bath basket bag could be a souvenir, which would be nice.

This wonderful hotel is a heaven in so many ways. From the design of the house, which is in a fantastic condition, to the food experience until the onsen and all the amazing staff who look so well after you. The location is a traditional and quite town that gives an image of Japan. I highly recommend to come in winter for the beautiful scenery and to book half board as there are only few outside options nearby the hotel. Big compliments to the amazing staff at the hotel - they will ensure for a fantastic experience! Thanks to all of them
