The staff were very helpful, but when we arrived the lift was out of service, so we had to haul our luggage up four floors; they said maintenance was working on it, yet after three days it still didn’t function.

The only reason we stayed was the location, as it was the sole available hotel that day. The place was terrible: the lift was broken, the shower curtain was mouldy, the room and bathroom were dirty, and the entire building was poorly maintained; guests argued loudly in the corridor all night, and there was no way to reach reception.

The hotel is a beautiful old building in the heart of Bristol, with a charming old‑style interior, large ornate wooden doors to the rooms, and high ceilings; the staff were comfortable and I would highly recommend it – kind regards, Gert Petersen from Denmark. The hotel is no pricier than others in its class; overall, prices in England are very high today because of inflation and the strong pound.

One of the bar person and cleaner were very nice. Hotel could be. Receptionist and other bar staff not welcoming. Manager Farsi lied to me when he said he would give me a voucher for another stay, as room for 3 adults was not fit for purpose. Third pull out bed full of poking up springs, and wasn't made up, boarded up windows as it had been broken, towels fot two, although that was rectified quickly. 3rd bed was not made up, now i know why. No care for this beautiful building in this historic area. I go to Bristol alot I used to stay with my son, but he is now sharing a studio, so no room. The manager gave me emails that bounced back, phone couldn't get through. Then did not resolve via booking.com as a month had lapsed before I reported it to . Very very poor customer service, from the hotel and disappointed by response. This is my first complaint ever, after using this platform for years

Totally overpriced
