Despite the tough circumstances at the moment, the staff did everything they could to welcome us properly… that alone deserves respect.

We had to wait 25 minutes to pick up the key for our room, and the person in charge didn't answer the phone left on the door, nor were there instructions for returning the key. The walls were covered in splash marks and were dirty.

After a sweltering bike ride, I was thrilled to find a warm shower and a comfy bed with the air‑conditioning actually working. Too bad the on‑site restaurant had shut its doors, but the Italian place just across the street served up tasty outdoor meals. It was also handy that we could leave our bicycles inside the hotel.

This little hotel sits right in the centre of Stavelot, so everything was within walking distance. The rooms were modest but clean, and the staff seemed friendly enough for a short stay.
