The location is good, close to the Soldiers Club and right across the road from the water, but the property needs a thorough cleaning and a facelift.

There’s no restaurant, so no meals were provided, and after staying four nights we would have liked fresh linens a couple of times.

I slept in room 7, which is on the ground floor near the entrance gate and has a car park right outside the door; the spot is close to town centre and opposite the waterfront. The décor feels a bit old-fashioned, yet the room was very clean and the electric blanket worked once plugged in. The shower took a while to heat up, but it was fine. The host was very friendly and offered useful tips on activities and eateries. The lighting in the room was a bit dim. Also, the entry to the property has a very low barrier in the middle of the road that’s hard to see at night—something that should be mentioned in the listing. If you’re coming from town centre, drive past the property to the nearby roundabout and then return.

The location is great, and the 2‑bedroom apartment has a good bathroom, but the electric blanket didn’t work, there were no power points, the electrical appliances weren’t safety‑tagged, and we ran out of hot water.

The place sits in a fantastic spot.
