I was blown away by the experience in the tiny town of Toro; the hostel sits right across from the village church and offers a rare view from the shared balcony. Everything was spotless and organized, and the owners were incredibly friendly. I came specifically for the wheat festival in Gelsi, so I asked early if they could arrange a transfer to the neighboring town—there were no buses that Sunday— and the hostel owners stepped in, charging a pre‑agreed fee. While there I practiced the Italian I’d learned for just a month, and they encouraged me because they understood. The kitchen was shared, a small grocery shop was opposite the hostel, and the bus stop in the capital of Múgica is just across from the hostel, with a few round‑trip buses a day at 1.05 € each way. A pizza place called Pizzilor is only a few minutes away and highly recommended!
