Located in downtown Halifax, 2 blocks from the waterfront, The Halliburton occupies 3 historic townhouses. This boutique hotel features a library, garden courtyard, and gourmet restaurant, Stories, serving fresh seafood and offering an extensive wine selection. Each room is individually decorated with antique and wood furniture, including flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, and coffee makers.

We adored this place; the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the room was spacious and tastefully decorated, and the garden drinks were a nice touch after a day of sightseeing. We had breakfast once, it was lovely and generous. Nothing negative.

Location: the city center is reachable on foot, close to the waterfront, the Via-Rail station, city buses, and many restaurants. The courtyard with terraces and balconies is very nice. Breakfast: real muesli, tasty bagels, plenty. The only downside is the many stairs in the building, but when asked, a lady offered to help carry luggage.

There was a room reservation mix‑up that left us without a room at the Haliburton on very short notice. A big downtown event that weekend meant very few other options. The Haliburton went above and beyond by securing a 5‑star room near our original location at the same cost. Communication was excellent and everything ran smoothly. The booking problem wasn’t their fault, but they stepped up and resolved it, followed up to ensure we were satisfied with the alternate room, and were very kind and professional. I would book at the Halliburton again without hesitation, as everyone I’ve spoken to says it’s a beautiful hotel with great facilities and staff. A happy ending.

The staff were fantastic and really helped when we had a problem with a 24‑hour delayed train. Nothing negative.

The staff and location were great, as I had mentioned before. The only issue was that this room was older and very cold.
