The location was great, especially the amazing view; I loved the dog‑friendly vibe and the horses in the field behind the property. It felt rural and quiet but was close to Durham city, and there were good local pubs for food. The accommodation wasn’t very well sound‑proofed and it got a bit hot at night.

The room was clean and the bathroom had nice products to use, but the continental breakfast was self‑serve; it worked for us since we were only there one night and left early, but we’re more used to a prepared breakfast. There was plenty of choice, though, and we heard a lot of noise from the adjacent room.

It was very handy for Durham and had everything we needed. The host met us personally and showed us into our modern room, which included nearby parking. The only issue was the lighting in the bathroom; there wasn’t enough light for makeup either in the bathroom or the bedroom.
