It was simply gorgeous, the location was quiet except for the train bridge, which didn’t bother us at all. If someone is sensitive to train noise it might be annoying, but we found it quite pleasant – a touch of “idyllic” city buzz 😀. Getting to the city takes a bit of time, but it’s doable.
We were happy with the location, and the shops and train station were easy to reach. However, opening the front door gave a direct view of the toilet, and the washbasin was so small that washing hands after using the toilet became a challenge. The shower lacked a non‑slip mat, which is essential on a houseboat that moves with the waves. In the previous year we stayed on the houseboat Günther, where the bathroom area was a bit more comfortable. I would not recommend the houseboat Wilma.
“Stay away, don’t use this place.”
Nothing good. I couldn’t sleep there and had to book somewhere else. I tried to contact the staff, but couldn’t reach them. Money wasted. Better sleep in the car – stay away.
Staying on a boat was an amazing experience; the cabin was thoughtfully furnished and the view of nature with passing trains in the background was perfect, even though you could hear the trains, it didn’t bother us and fit the city‑nature vibe. We’ll definitely come back :)

The holiday was extraordinary, a unique experience that I highly recommend. The location is great for exploring Hamburg, and staff were immediately helpful with any questions. The sofa bed is not recommended, but we were given a good air mattress right away. The onboard toilet needs to be replaced.
