The host was absolutely great, the parking space was ample and all amenities functioned perfectly, and the place is so close to the ferry that you can arrive in less than 5 minutes. Everything else was good.

First of all the staff were simply charming, and the location is very central. The facilities were in a bad state, with no hot water, everything was very old, and the room was full of crickets, preventing us from resting.

The room was a bit rough but had a distinct charm, the breakfast area was really nice with decent CR breakfast to start the day, and owner Robert and his mother were very helpful and attentive. Puntarenas itself feels a bit of a dump; it might have been lively in the 1950‑70s but now desperately needs a boost.

The staff were very friendly, but a faucet in the room was broken.
