The only reason to visit Hakodate, in my view, is this gorgeous boutique hotel—spotlessly detailed and staffed by the friendliest people I met on my Japanese trip. Don’t skip dinner there either; it’s a perfect 10/10. Nothing else to add.

The room and whole hotel shine with cleanliness, and I especially appreciated how professional and helpful every staff member was. The only downside: the air‑con often shuts off at night, leaving the room a bit stuffy.

The location, décor, breakfast, staff, room size, amenities, and bathroom were all good. The building was a bit dim, and our ground‑floor room had a small window facing the street; when we opened the curtains for more light, people could see inside.
