The setting was beautiful, the breakfast wonderful, and the staff amazing.

The breakfast was good, yet we were told our room had been updated but it still needed repairs: the bedding had holes that had been patched, the toilet‑roll holder was broken, and the handle on the back of the bathroom door was also broken. There was only one TV sports channel to watch, and the place felt dark with a stuffy smell. I know it’s an old historic building, but in 2026 it desperately needs interior renovation to justify a 4‑star rating; this is constructive criticism.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the garden was beautiful to walk through with water flowing into the pool area, and the standard room was spacious and nice. However, we didn't have a mini fridge in our room (I was carrying lactose‑free milk and products) and we had some problems with the air‑con.
