The location was excellent, the staff were kind, breakfast was tasty, and I was happy the hotel was pet‑friendly. It would be even better if rooms with a full bathroom were available instead of just a shower.

The room was compact yet comfortable, but the view from the window was blocked by two neighboring buildings that looked like closed‑off structures, so the scenery was not great (not the hotel’s fault).

The staff were incredibly friendly and clearly wanted us to feel comfortable. The facilities were spotless, free drinks were available, and it was a relief to have a toilet and shower in the room, which is unusual for a pension. The only downside was that the location was hard to find.

We expected a shared bathroom, but the room actually had a newly installed shower and an automated toilet—great! The American owner spoke English, which was a bonus. He let us check in at 10:30 pm, 30 minutes after the usual time, and sent us parking instructions via WhatsApp, hassle‑free. His wife was very helpful, showing us the best nearby spots, and she even spotted us near the Matsukawa River the day after we checked out and stopped to say hi. Loved it and will come back.

I stayed here the night before a hike. The place was clean and comfortable, and I was grateful for the room upgrade. Small touches like a C‑type outlet and free drinks were appreciated. I looked up for next month’s hike but there seemed to be no availability.
