“Very enjoyable stay”
Modern and spotless. The automatic lights in the bathrooms were a bit annoying.

The room was very clean, but the mattresses were lumpy and not comfortable. Dampness made the room smell musty and caused us to sneeze and cough; the damp came from a walk‑in cupboard at the back where our bags were left, and they came out soaking wet. The kitchen tap was almost broken and very loose.

The lodge faced south, so it received plenty of sunshine. However, it was tired and needed some TLC: furniture was outdated, the lounge carpet needed cleaning, and the hard flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms required replacement. The decking was dirty and had burn‑like marks. The kitchen lacked enough crockery and utensils, and the blinds were broken.

The lodge had its own parking space, was well situated in the park, and was very comfortable. When booking, we were told there were no available park spaces because all were full; this happened every day, so we couldn’t use a dedicated parking spot for check‑in.

The spot was great for Cheddar and the gorge, lodge was comfy and tidy with good beds and facilities, and maintenance was quick to fix the dishwasher. The gate didn’t read our van’s plate, so we had to get the dishwasher rack repaired in lodge 18, but the maintenance staff handled it well.
