The location is about a 40-minute drive from Voi, but the private shuttle service made it easy to get around.
The bubble itself is luxurious and private, with its own outdoor kitchen and shower (with warm water, a rare luxury in Kenya!).
Serah was an incredible host - super kind and engaged, and communication through WhatsApp was seamless.
The nearby town of Wundanyi is a beautiful trip, and hiking in the mountains is a must-do.

“Authentic experience”
We spent two nights as part of a larger Kenya trip and found this spot one of the most authentic we’d experienced. The bubble sits in Serah’s backyard, offering full privacy, its own bathroom, an outdoor shower, and a kitchen. We didn’t have a car, so Serah arranged transport to and from the site, which meant we brought little food because she cooks tasty meals on request. After a Tsavo safari, we came for local hikes, but a new group of lions blocked our planned hill walk; still, guide Omar led us past the river, waterfall, fields, and village. It’s a solid choice for a brief local adventure that supports the community. The only caveat is that without a 4x4 you’ll rely on their transport, and the bubble roof isn’t fully clear, so stargazing is best from outside.
“TERRIBLE!”
Nothing… everything was a disaster. Something that should have been special turned out terrible. When we returned in the evening, the tent was completely collapsed (see attached photos) and there was no ventilation, making it impossible to stay inside. We called Sarah, the owner, but she didn’t respond during the emergency; she only apologized the next day. We spent the night outside without sleep—the worst experience I’ve ever had. The outside shower had cold water due to a technical problem; we asked for an adjustment, but they couldn’t fix it. Imagine showering outside with cold water after a safari. The shower also had no soap or shower gel; we asked for one, but nothing was brought, so we washed with water alone. The most frustrating issue was the lack of toilet paper in the bathroom; we requested it upon arrival, but it wasn’t delivered until the second day, leaving us unable to clean up after pooping. Other problems included general lack of maintenance, a leaking kitchen faucet, no sugar, and dirt. The campsite only has one tent, and at night you’re completely alone; if you need help, no one is there. Sarah didn’t respond to our messages, and we received no assistance—only an apology shortly before departure. She promised a full refund for all these inconveniences, but after we left, the refund never arrived. I’m a seasoned traveler; you can see all the positive reviews left, and this was the first one‑star review I’ve ever given because it was the worst experience of my life.
We stumbled upon this tiny village far from the hustle and bustle, and the welcome was warm and inviting. The bubble was a perfect retreat, and we felt right at home. The only thing missing was. nothing!
“A peaceful little piece of paradise under the stars”
Sleeping under the stars in the bubble felt magical and peaceful, and the décor is tastefully done, giving off a cozy, stylish glamping vibe with an outdoor kitchen and tree‑side shower. The kitchen supplies everything needed for tea and simple meals. The nearby village is quite isolated, perfect for disconnecting from city life, Wi‑Fi, and daily stress. A small local restaurant offers warm homemade food at very good prices, and the village atmosphere is joyful and welcoming. It isn’t ultra‑luxury, but it’s clean, comfortable, and built for a good cause, which adds meaning to the stay. Sarah, the host, is genuinely wonderful—caring, attentive, and always making sure we felt comfortable. She even lets guests enjoy the many fruits and herbs growing around the property, adding a special touch. This place is a real gem and absolutely worth supporting and visiting.
The place is in a remote, solitary area, which makes it tricky to reach on your own but adds to the charm for some. Being the only guest/tourist around made it a special experience. It’s part of a local community project still in early stages, so expectations should be managed accordingly. Beautiful initiative worth supporting.
