Crown City Inn Coronado

“Super location, very clean and the price is right.”

The location works for me because it’s close to my mother’s place. The on‑site Bistro is really good and serves a great breakfast. The filtered water and free coffee and cookies at reception add a nice touch. The property and rooms feel dated, and the bathrooms are very small with a cramped layout to reach the shower. Still, the price is very affordable, and the rooms are cleaned expertly by a great team of house maids.

Everything was perfect.

We were met with an exceptionally warm welcome. The room was spacious enough for three people and had windows fitted with fly screens; we heard nothing from the street even with the window open at night. The location is fantastic—almost everything is within walking distance, or you can rent one of the bikes. The area is quiet and lovely, and you can take the ferry (quite pricey) over to San Diego. The pool was nice and well maintained, and coffee was available all day along with delicious cookies. Water bottles could be refilled with filtered water. The only downside was that the bikes were past their prime.

“Got to see all of Coronado using their bikes beach towels and central location”

We really appreciated how central the hotel was on the island and loved having bikes available. Since we didn’t have a car, the convenience of transport was a big plus when we didn’t want to walk. The housekeeping staff were also very sweet and left our room sparkling. Maricia was very patient when we needed to come in and out of the room and gave us lovely advice for our last day in Coronado. The only thing we missed was trying the bistro.

“Gem find for a gem stay”

The location and staff were great. The only drawback was the small pool.
