The food was great. The menu was excellent and prepared superbly. The extended regional cuisine was prepared with finesse.

The stay was nice, the room and hotel were relatively old but everyone was super friendly. The food in the restaurant is highly recommended! Note that aside from towels and toilet paper, there is nothing else in the room. The actual price of €35 per person including breakfast would have been very reasonable for the accommodation! Raising the room price from €70 to €117 is more than steep! The discussions and bad reviews have, however, tarnished the place.

Excellent starting point for hiking; very family‑friendly service (fantastic kitchen). The private atmosphere.

The Sponsel inn met all our needs: we visited the cave, which was reachable by a short walk from the inn.
