I liked that the hotel was close to Higashiyama Station and that the room had a shower, which was really helpful. The shower pressure was good, and I slept better than expected. The sheets were freshly laundered, giving me peace of mind. However, the room had no toilet, and I worried that the building or room password might be exposed. The shoe cabinet had no lock, which made me uneasy. The hair dryer got extremely hot, and I was scared it might catch fire. The room had an odor that bothered me, and it left stains on my luggage and clothes. The folding table in the room was wobbly.

The experience was beyond what I anticipated!

The location and cleanliness were nice, but the rooms we received were really small. I didn’t realize there was no private bathroom, so we had to use a shared toilet and shower.

The hotel’s proximity to the nearest station and the downtown area, as well as its closeness to Heian Shrine, made the location great. The room, however, was terribly moldy and I had to keep the air conditioner on all the time, which was uncomfortable because I’m not a fan of AC. The roll‑curtains beside the bed were heavily moldy, and I could imagine that the carpet and other unseen parts of the room were also moldy, making it hard to relax. The front desk’s shoe box rule was also unpleasant; every time I opened it, a strong shoe odor blew out, which was painful. I didn’t check whether the smell came from other floors’ shoes or the box itself because it was too intense. Despite the good price and location, I decided not to stay here again.
