The varied breakfast was already a treat and a highlight on the garden terrace; the Mediterranean‑flavoured garden was a welcoming spot during our six‑day holiday, and I highly recommend staying there.

The beds were a catastrophe.

The breakfast was very good: croissants, rolls, cheese, charcuterie, yoghurt, coffee, various milk brands, orange and other juices, coffee. The chef even offered to prepare us some eggs. We had a nice chat with him over breakfast. The man is very well travelled and knows what he talks about. The pension (you might call it a small family‑hotel with about 10 rooms) may seem a bit darkish at the entrance, but opens to a very spacious courtyard on the first floor, where it’s nice reading or having a drink if you don’t want to stay in your room. The place is immaculate and cosy because of all the green (flowers and trees, garden). It was our last stop on our trip before heading home, but we left with a good feeling, knowing we will come back to explore the area and make bicycle trips along the Rhine nearby. Moreover, there’s a very good restaurant around the corner: Tutto Pizza da Tomasso in Oestrich‑Winkel, a beautiful upscale restaurant with winter garden and immense terrace, but with good prices and consistent dishes with an authentic taste. So, if you’re in the neighbourhood, you definitely can’t go wrong staying or eating here. We loved it. Probably because the chef of Rheingauer Hof made us feel welcome. Thank you! There was nothing I didn’t like.

The location was great. The walls were paper‑thin, so much so you’d think the other guests and the neighbours are in the room with you. The bathroom was so small that one can barely sit. With the number of dead and alive spiders I also guess the cleaning is not very thorough.

The location is good and the breakfast was very good! In the bathroom it was dusty. All in all we were really disappointed with the room for the price we paid.
