The owner and his wife were incredibly kind and attentive, showing me around on a motorcycle tour to the Pukará and joining me on outings; they used a translation app because my Spanish was limited. The wife cooked a dish called inchcapi that I wanted to try, and it was delicious; she also demonstrated how to prepare it so I learned a lot. Wi‑Fi worked well from the terrace and even on the bench outside the hotel, with fast speeds and no drops. A shop on the first floor lets you grab drinks without leaving the premises, and the room rate is very cheap. The shower only had water, but since the Pukará was hot, hot water wasn’t needed.
