The view was nice. The beds rolled to the middle because the mattress was old. The bathroom wasn’t clean—hair was found in the shower. Breakfast was supervised by an employee who kept on his phone, no milk was available, no explanation, and he left his computer open showing everything.

The sports hotel sits on a special spot on the Kwaremont and has its own character thanks to its layout and materials. The young crew presents themselves modestly and skillfully. The hotel could use a bit of refurbishment in terms of rooms.

We were pleased that breakfast was included and that the hotel offered secure bike storage in the linen and food store. Unfortunately the TV in our room wasn’t working and the staff seemed almost uninterested in fixing it. We had booked this place because it advertised itself as a “cycling‑themed hotel” and promised a flat‑screen TV, yet there was no signal. We had even cycled up from Ronse city centre early to watch the final stage of La Vuelta, only to find no TV signal and staff who were completely disinterested. It was a real shame. Additionally, the on‑site café was supposed to stay open until 6 pm but was already closing at 4 pm, so we were glad we had brought our own food.
