Located beside the River Ouse in Bedford, the Embankment Hotel offers a serene riverside setting with views of quiet gardens and a Victorian bridge. This charming hotel features a friendly pub, dining area, and outdoor seating for afternoon cream teas. It's a short walk to the Bedford Museum and Cecil Higgins Art Gallery, and all 1891-founded bedrooms are en suite with telephone and television.

The staff are lovely, the room is snug, and it’s close to the Bedford International Athletics Stadium, plus the breakfast is amazing. The only downside was that the accommodation on the 2nd floor had no lift, which was a hassle after a long day of athletics, but once you reach the room it’s super comfy.

The location is amazing, the staff are very friendly, the bed is comfortable, and the hotel itself is beautiful. Parking is a drawback, but it’s a small car park and that’s how it’s advertised.
