“Go if you're ok with this treatment”

The rooms were roomy, but the owner was neurotic: she didn’t lock the front door and would rush to the lobby whenever someone approached it. Even when we wanted to shower, she would hurry us and ask questions, and she seemed eager for us to leave constantly. The old smell was strong, and not having a lock made us uneasy about the security of our belongings. It could have been a better stay if the owner had given us more privacy and space instead of being so neurotic.

“La magie des traditions”

A magical spot! The ryokan sits just steps from the subway, and the small street nearby buzzes with good little restaurants at night. I loved the perfect calm, the tiny garden in front of my room, the delightfully old‑fashioned decor that feels frozen in time, and the host’s kindness with all her little gestures. If I return to Kyoto, this is where I’ll stay!

The welcome was perfect, with two very kind elderly ladies who made you feel comfortable right away; their hospitality was warm. The room was spacious, clean, and pleasant, though being traditional you can hear a faint neighbor. The amenities were very clean. Nothing else to note.

The hosts were incredibly hospitable and friendly even though there was a language barrier. The place was well‑located and easy to get around, especially during the Gion Matsuri festival. The rooms and facilities were very traditional and spacious, creating a beautiful experience we’ll remember fondly for years. Thank you for having us.

The real Japanese experience was awesome, very clean and comfortable. The ladies there are so kind and lovely. I totally recommend this ryokan.
