“Underwhelming and poorly run.”
I’ve stayed at this Government‑owned hotel on the Island six times now, and it still feels like a 2‑star place rather than the 5‑star it claims to be. The “fantastic breakfast” is a joke; the coffee is imported even though the Island grows it, there’s no fresh fruit or produce, and eggs are rationed. Overall, the food quality and value are disappointing. The barman would play gangsta rap until I asked him to stop, which he did only temporarily. My room was tired and, in my case, grubby, with a shower trap that forced me to unblock it to stop the room from flooding. The Government should sell this loss‑making property to a professional operator; it’s a bad representation of an otherwise beautiful and friendly Island.
