“Room Did Not Match the Booking”
The room I booked was nothing like the room I was given. When I went to the front desk, they told me, “We only have 4 of the corner rooms you booked, and they are all occupied.” When I mentioned that the room didn’t even have a bathtub, I was told that I should have requested a bathtub in advance. But a bathtub was clearly listed among the amenities of the room I booked. Is a guest really supposed to make a separate request and get confirmation for an amenity that is already included in the room description? The staff member responded with the completely irrelevant comment, “I don’t know where you are from.” I have been in situations before where the room I booked was unavailable, but the front desk always informed me during check-in and upgraded me at no additional cost. Here, they gave me an inferior room without even telling me. On top of that, the bathroom smelled so bad that the odor spread into the entire room. I checked the photos of their other rooms online and realized that what I was given appeared to be a standard room with a king-size bed, presented to me as a “Deluxe King” room. In the end, instead of acknowledging the issue, the staff were rude and refused to take responsibility. The first front desk staff member was also very unprofessional from the beginning. While I was still explaining the situation, the staff member became visibly irritated, called another receptionist over, and I had to explain the entire situation all over again from the beginning
