The hotel left mixed feelings. Positives included a very pleasant reception staff, a fairly decent breakfast, a clean room with perfectly clean plumbing, thick hotel mattresses, many shower bottles with toiletries, clean bedding, a restaurant with reasonable prices, the convenience of not having to run around the city at night, and parking that is available though not covered and with limited spots. However, upon closer inspection, there were stains on the carpeted floor in the room—no photo needed to see how it detracts from the rating—and a mattress that, though excellent and comfortable, had a hole in the middle after about five years, making it usable only in one position; this issue was only in one of the two rooms, and I forgot to notify reception—room 116, window side. Sound insulation was weak, with corridor and street noises easily entering, though I slept with earplugs. The window opens, which is a plus compared to other hotels. The cleaning chemical smell was a bit odd and not liked by me, though my wife was fine. In the morning, the turned‑off air conditioner started making noises. The minibar door wouldn’t close, the room entry handle was loose, and every time I entered the room a bell rang. Clearly, the hotel is not being properly maintained, yet it has great potential. Guests seem to arrive regardless, so no one wants to invest in keeping the hotel in decent condition. The biggest disappointment was the spa, which felt more like a pool with cool water and a single sauna with an unsealed door. Overall, the renovation was good, but there was rust on the floor grates, limescale along the pool edges, a suspended ceiling with trash and water, and a broken sauna handle. I personally felt uncomfortable there and left after five minutes. Towels and bathrobes were issued at reception, but the robes were heavily worn, as was the rest of the hotel.

The wellness area was wonderful, and the pool water temperature was just right to refresh after a whole day of August sun. Breakfast was classic but excellent, and the lady at reception was great.
