You should definitely stay here if you’re visiting Jebel Akhdar. This is a family-run place with a connection to the village that goes back centuries. You’re staying in beautifully restored versions of what were once their actual village homes, which gives the whole experience a sense of history that would be very hard for a normal hotel to replicate. The family were incredibly welcoming and the service throughout our stay was great. We also did the Three Villages Walk, which we’d highly recommend. Our host drove us between different locations and walked with us through parts of the villages, explaining the area along the way. We stopped for coffee, visited a rose-water factory and a pomegranate farm, so it ended up being much more than just a hike. A fascinating place with a great family story behind it. One of the more memorable stays from our time in Oman
