“Un hotel à taille humaine, un service au top, une restauration qualitative.”
The first thing that stands out about the place is the owners—friendly, attentive, adaptable, with a real smile and care that feels like a genuine relationship. The room (probably the last available) was very clean, more spacious than other hotels, and the bed was comfortable. (Only one small flaw noted below.) It was a bit cold for us, the weather was unfavorable, and the owner immediately brought us a portable heater. The setting in this small town is great because everything is within walking distance. Off‑season it’s less lively, which is exactly what we wanted. The town itself isn’t special, but it’s an ideal spot for hikers and walkers. The surrounding nature is superb, with several paths directly accessible from there. The hotel’s restaurant was perfect, so we stayed there every evening. There isn’t a long menu (often a bad sign), but there are quality dishes in a nearly full restaurant (hotel guests and locals) that’s calm—what more could you ask for? It’s not a “postcard” hotel, but it doesn’t need to be; the owners and the spirit they inject are the soul and meaning of the place. The only negative was that our room was more exposed to street noise: the door seal wasn’t “soundproof” for a large part (I think it was poorly installed). So the door joint didn’t stop sound, whereas the window didn’t have this flaw and the difference was clear. Maybe it needs fixing? Nevertheless, it didn’t stop us from sleeping, even my more sensitive wife.
