The location was good, right in the center and close to everything. I liked the mattress and the owner, Iara, was friendly. I had expected a simple breakfast, but there was no fruit or eggs (the lack of fruit was especially disappointing), the French bread was sold by the piece (1 per person), and breakfast started at 8 am, which felt late; we met someone who barely drank coffee because of the timing. We didn’t stay in the house we had expected, but in a house in front of the inn. The house was old and had shops below, so we could hear what was happening in the shop and they could hear us. The wooden floor was old and creaked a lot. The house had three bathrooms, each with issues: one bathroom’s door jammed and had no handle, so I got stuck on my first day and stopped using it. That bathroom and another lacked a shower curtain or divider between the shower and toilet. The third bathroom was larger and more spacious but had no hook for a towel or a spot for soap/shampoo/conditioner (the other two did). That bathroom was the only one with a bidet. The other two bathrooms shared a sink (and the light over it didn’t work). I’m detailing these because I think small improvements would make a big difference. There was no parking, and because it’s very central, we had trouble finding a spot on one of the days, but that’s fine. One reason we chose the inn over a vacation rental was that we thought someone would give us guidance and tips about waterfalls and tours, but because we weren’t staying in the same house as the owner, we didn’t get that structure (the person who gave us tips was the staff at the Adobe Restaurant). We also expected some interaction with other guests, like a hostel, but there wasn’t much openness for that.
